OBJECTIVE

Completion of my Director of Special Education licensure will provide a credential indicating my commitment to on-going development of educational leadership and administrative skill. My professional goal is to continue to grow as an educational leader in any capacity I have the honor of fulfilling in my chosen work.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Saint Paul Public Schools, Saint Paul, MN

Special Education Resource Coordinator, 2010 – present

  •  Provide resources, support, and instructional coaching to new Early Childhood Special Education teachers, committee work in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, assist in compiling and analyzing program data, and developing data collection systems.

Early Childhood Special Education Supervisor, 2008 - 2010

  • Supervised ECSE staff in collaboration with building principals, provided vision and direction for program development as part of the Saint Paul Public School Special Education Leadership Team, collaborated with community partners to strengthen Special Education services throughout the Saint Paul Public Schools.

Early Childhood Special Education Lead Resource Teacher, 2000 - 2008

  • Led and supported staff in delivering ECSE services in an interagency system, arranged and coordinated program-wide professional development to meet District and Special Education Program initiatives.  Built school district and community partnerships through school district, community, and state level committee work.

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher/Team Leader, 1993 - 2000

  • Provided itinerant special education services to children in community based settings as part of a multidisciplinary team. Developed and implemented Individualized Education Plans and Individualized Family Service Plans for children and families. Conducted evaluation and kindergarten transfer procedures. Visited children and parents in their homes. Assumed leadership and development of a community based team during program growth from serving 6 children in 1993 to 150 children in the 1999-2000 school year.

Ramsey County Interagency Early Intervention Committee, Roseville, MN

Interagency Early Intervention Commitee, Service Cooordinator / Team Leader 1992 - 1993

  • Assisted families and agencies by providing service coordination through the Individualized Family Service Plan process. Participated on the Ramsey County Interagency Early Intervention Committee. Developed the Ramsey County Individualized Family Service Plan service coordination team through team leader activities.

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire

Consultant/Technical Assistant, 1991 - 1992

  • Supervised student teachers for UW – Eau Claire ECSE teacher training program. Provided professional development to Early Intervention Personnel in the field through the Wisconsin Personnel Development Project. Contributed written material on Early Intervention topics for technical assistance bulletins published by the WPDP, Birth to Three Program.

Northern Pines Early Intervention Program, Cumberland, WI

Project Director, Early Intervention Demonstration Learning Site,

Wisconsin Birth to Three Program,  1989 - 1991

  • Wrote grant proposal for two year demonstration learning project in initial stages of implementation of federal Birth to Three services. Coordinated grant activities to develop an interagency system of service delivery in five rural Wisconsin counties. Served children and families by providing direct special instruction to children and IFSP service coordination. Participated in ASHA’s Infant Project in Washington, DC as the Wisconsin teacher on a multidisciplinary team.

Case Management Specialist/Teacher, 1982 - 1989

  • Conducted evaluation and assessment of child and family needs, coordinated child and family services in a large rural area. Provided special instruction to children through a home visiting model. Assisted Administration in recruiting and managing personnel and program development as program grew from 20 to 115 children.

Walker-Hackensack School District, Walker, MN

Special Education Classroom Teacher,   1979 - 1982

  • Developed a new educational program for children with multiple handicaps. Taught primary school age children with multiple handicaps in a self-contained setting. Supervised paraprofessional staff. Developed, implemented, and evaluated IEPs with a multidisciplinary team. Coached Special Olympics.
